Firearm Safety Class
Registration: February 15th 2017 @ 7:00pm
Class Dates and Times
- March 31st 4-9 pm
- April 1st 8am-6pm or completion
- April 2nd Range 10am -3pm or completion
Classes and Registration will be held at Triton High School in Dodge Center. Parents must accompany student on registration night.
Seating is limited to 50 students.
Requirements
- Certification is available to students 11 years and older.
- DNR Firearms Certification is required of anyone born after December 31, 1979 to purchase a hunting license in Minnesota.
- 16 and older can complete the online course and register for the field day
General Information
The firearm safety class consists of a minimum of 12 hours of classroom and field experience in the safe handling of firearms and hunter responsibility. The field experience allows students to learn and demonstrate commonly accepted principles of safety in hunting and the handling of firearms. It includes live fire on a rifle range. Upon successful completion of this course, students receive a temporary certificate. This certificate will allow the bearer to purchase a hunting license in Minnesota and other states where certification is required.

Driver's Training
Northgate Driving School will offer a 30-hr. session of classroom driver's training here at Triton, 3:30 - 6:30 p.m., Mon. Mar. 20 - Fri. Mar. 31, 2017. This class prepares students to take the MN. Knowledge test in order to get a learner's permit. Students must be 14 1/2 years of age to take the class. For more information you can see Mr. Anderson in the Choir Room.

Cost for the classroom only is $175, classroom plus behind-the-wheel training is $350.
