Belleville High School
Greetings, Belleville Families! This is week #3 of the school year, and we are fully engaged in the learning process. Last week, the studeents were all challenged to focus on their classroom practices: taking great notes, asking questions, putting phones away, conducting their own research, forming study groups, etc. - with a goal of attaining at least an 80% on their assessments. To support your student, be sure to monitor their progress weekly on Parent Connection/MiStar and DISCUSS with your student any updates provided by their teachers in Parent Square. We're all in this together - in Purpose, Excellence, and ACHIEVEMENT - working toward your student's total success!
📅 Remember the first Tiger Parent PTO Meeting is September 20th at 6:30pm, and that the BEST schools have the BEST Parent/Family Participation! THANK YOU for your time an attention to all the information here. Have a great week, and GO TIGERS!

Homework Lab📚
Welcome back, everyone! We wanted to inform you that the Homework Lab and Testing Center at BHS will be open beginning this week to provide additional support to our students. We encourage you to share this information with your respective classes and colleagues. The Homework Lab will be available on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15 to 3:15. During this time, students can receive assistance with their homework assignments or seek guidance on any academic challenges they may be facing. To ensure a smooth and efficient process, it is required that students sign up using bookmarks before attending the lab. We recommend that they sign up before 1:00 pm to secure their spot.
We understand the importance of providing academic support to our students, and our staff is dedicated to assisting them in the Homework Lab. If any students require guidance or additional help, please encourage them to take advantage of this resource. Thank you for your cooperation and support in promoting the Homework Lab and Testing Center among our students. By working together, we can ensure that every student receives the assistance they need to succeed academically. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

Scholarships
How do I find scholarships?
1. Apply for Financial Aid in December 2023 www.FAFSA.gov
2. Check with each college in which you are applying for merit-based scholarships and deadlines.
3. Check for memorial and alumni scholarship opportunities at each college in which you may qualify.
4. Check with student’s/parent’s employer, banks/credit union, religious & civic affiliations, etc. for scholarships.
5. Read the weekly SMORE
7. Conduct a search by using a national search engine, such as www.fastweb.com, www.scholarships.com, www.myscholly.com, etc. Be sure to create an email address just for these searches as students will receive a lot of emails. There is no need to pay money for these services! Watch for scams!
8. Check Careeronestop: https://www.careeronestop.org/toolkit/training/find-scholarships.aspx
9. College Board Opportunity Scholarships. https://opportunity.collegeboard.org/
10. For more information: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/grants-scholarships/finding-scholarships#how-find
11. Remember it takes work to receive most scholarships! You won't know if you don't try!
Students should keep a close eye on scholarships that will be posted on our Scholarship page coming soon!
