Dolphin Digest
Weekly Update #3
Week of August 9, 2021
WMES Parents/Guardians,
Happy Thursday! We are so excited to see all of our students on Monday, August 30th.
I will continue to share information over the next couple of weeks. Just like last year, we will continue enhanced cleaning measures. TCPS is using three-foot distancing, when possible. At this time, masks have not been mandated but are highly recommended; however, this may change. We are watching this closely to see if we receive guidance from the CDC or the local health department.
For our New Pre-K and K Families-
Practice eating "school lunch" with your child. Please practice having them open each item they have for lunch. Encourage them to eat within 20-25 minutes, and allow them to clean up their area by throwing away their trash. This practice will help prepare them for school lunch, which can be a big adjustment. We appreciate your help and support in preparing your child for their school experience!
Another helpful hint for students who are going to be car riders to/from school: Please begin having your child practice buckling and unbuckling their seatbelts. This will foster independence while keeping the car rider line moving quickly!
Our administrative team and staff have worked with each grade level team to group students into classes for next year based on student needs. A reminder that we cannot take parent requests for teacher assignments. If your child is newly registered and you did not receive a postcard most likely your child's registration packet is not complete. Please call the school at 410-476-3144 to check on your child's registration status.

Our New Family Orientation is on August 18th, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. This is a parent meeting that will include a short presentation for the parents of our new students and will provide an opportunity to answer any questions. Please spread the word. If your child was virtual last year and you would like to attend, please feel free to do so.
Back to School Conferences - Our Back to School conferences will be in-person unless you request a Zoom conference. You are welcome to bring your school supplies to the conferences. During this conference, teachers will be asking parents a series of questions in order to best meet their child’s needs for the start of school on August 30th. We are looking forward to meeting you and your child!
If you have not completed the TCPS Alternative Transportation then please complete this form below so we know how your child will go home at the end of the day.

Great news that our Grandparent's Club and PTO will be purchasing pencil boxes and supplies to fill them for each child at WMES. Of course, our school will always welcome donations of anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, and paper towels!
Let's just hope for a healthy, safe, and normal school year!

Lillian Blizzard
I am Lillian Blizzard and am so excited to teach fourth grade at White Marsh Elementary School. I grew up in Easton and Cordova and still reside there with my two cats. I am happy to start my teaching career in the same county I grew up. I attended Chesapeake College and Salisbury University. In 2021, I graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, crafting, and playing card games.
