Lincoln Reading by the Campfire Literacy Night
The kindergarten and 1st grade Reading by the Campfire Literacy Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 1st from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The students and their parents will learn strategies to help them become successful readers and they will go home with a book that they get to keep forever.
Lincoln
We will start our second week of books that focus on being proactive. During 3rd grade story time we will be reading My Mouth is a Volcano! by Julia Cook. We will be reading Dog vs. Cat by Chris Gall during 2nd grade story time. We will be reading How to Babysit a Grandpa by Jean Reagan during 1st grade story time. We will be reading The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister during kindergarten story time.

On Friday we will see:
3rd Grade Edwards and Bent - We will set our reading goals and learn how to use our running record bookmark to help us remember what we have read as we are reading.
2nd Grade Swihart and Mick - We will will continue to our compare and contrast fiction and nonfiction. The students will present their book care rules poster.
1st grade Hays and Carr - We will read our nonfiction book and look at the characteristics of nonfiction. The students will work with partners to determine if a book is fiction or nonfiction and they will need to explain why.
Kindergarten Schmitz and Richter - We will be looking at our gross books slides and then we will look at books that we have received in our library. We will review the book care cares.

We will see Mrs. Williams/Mrs. Wuthrich and Mr. Edward's classes on Tuesday. We will see Mrs. Pfizenmaier's and Mrs. Deines' classes on Thursday for library lessons.
All classes will review the reading goals sheets. We will learn about bookmercials and what they need to do to present an bookmercial in the special chairs. They will need to bring their Leadership Notebook to library please.

I will be at the middle school half days Tuesday through Thursday. Wednesday will be in the morning and Tuesday and Thursday will be in the afternoon. Our library assistant, Tasha Siemers, will be here Monday-Wednesday at CCCMS, Thursday at CCCHS, and Friday she will be at the middle school from 7:45 to 10:45 and then she will go to the high school for the remainder of the day.
We have scheduled class checkouts on Tuesday 6th hour (Mrs. Hallberg), Wednesday (Mrs. Yenni), and Thursday (Mr. DeBauche). During 8th hour on the following days, Tuesday (Mrs. Hallberg), Wednesday (Mrs. Yenni), and Thursday (Mrs. Roth) the 6th grade language arts classes will be in the library for checkout.
