A Note from the principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy Labor Day!
I want to start off by thanking each and everyone of our parents/guardians for partnering with us in making a great start to this school year. Please continue to make sure that your children come to school fully prepared with all of their supplies and a positive attitude to learn.
We survived the first week of MAPS testing and have one week to go. We have finished most of the testing, but there are a few classes that need to finish. I want to thank you for all of your support during this last while we have been MAPS testing. Please help us stress to students that this testing is extremely important in identifying any gaps that the student may have in their learning. We will use this data to assist the students in filling in their gaps and bringing them up to standards. It is imperative that they get a good nights rest and a good breakfast to prepare them for this round of testing. This data, along with STAAR testing and grades, is used at the end of the year to determine whether or not the student is promoted to the next grade.
Please know that we highly value home/school communication here at Harmony School of Excellence. It is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success. We encourage you to contact us if/when the need arises, and to stay in the know about your child’s studies, assignments, assessments, and school activities, as well as other events and happenings.
Please continue to check your email for our weekly newsletter with new and exciting updates. Also, watch for updates on the website for updated news and upcoming events. I truly look forward to partnering with you this year and making this a successful year for our students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have.
Thank you,
Have a wonderful week.

Home Visits
Harmony School of Excellence is proud to participate in the Home Visit Program! Home Visits build relationships between the school and the home in order to better meet the needs of students. During a Home Visit, teachers will briefly review your child's academic progress, discuss any upcoming school events and extracurricular activities, and answer any questions that you may have regarding your child or the school.
We want to visit as many of our families as possible this year. Teachers and staff will be calling or emailing parents to schedule brief 15-20 minute Home Visits onSaturday, September 7th and Saturday, October 5th. If these dates do not work for your family, you are welcome to request another date. We hope to see you at home!
