Hoover Happenings

September 16, 2019

A note from the Principal

Hey Parents - We are off to a fabulous start to our school year. I want to give a shout out to our PTA. In a nutshell, the Hoover PTA organizes events and raises funds to help enhance your child's school experience. The PTA is a great way to engage with and be involved in your child's school experience.

The Hoover PTA would like to invite you to join the PTA and their new MemberHub website!

Use this link https://hooverpta.memberhub.com/join/tx36ld to get set-up on MemberHub and then go to the "Shop" section to pay your PTA Membership dues. We encourage you to consider adding a donation to the Hoover PTA along with your dues payment if you are able!

MemberHub is an online directory, a parent calendar (for PTA meetings, community events, school events, fundraisers, etc...), as well as volunteer signup sheets for events and happenings throughout the year!

High Fives...Fist Bumps...Warm Welcomes for All

Members of the North Mankato Police Department joined us Wednesday morning, greeting our Hoover Huskies before school.

Thank you North Mankato Police Department for your time and commitment to our community.

Such a great way to start our day!

NEW TO OUR SCHEDULE THIS YEAR, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

This school year, we will be using a slightly different rotation for our special area classes (Art, Media, Music and P.E.). We are moving to a 5 day rotation rather than a day of the week rotation. Day 1 will be the 1st day of school. The ¨Why¨ behind the change is to allow for a better balance of class time throughout the year. Historically Monday and Friday classes are seen significantly less by special area teachers. The calendar is linked below.

LIVING THE 7 MINDSETS

The 7 Mindsets are a part of who we are. Here are some examples of Hoover staff members living the mindsets this summer.

First Proud Paw of the Year! Way to Go Buddy!

Here at Hoover we talk a lot about being a being a Super Husky and showing Husky Pride. When students are caught making great choices they are rewarded with a Proud Paw. Watch for these little white tags in your student's backpack or folder.

They love to share the stories of how they earned them.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8th IS THE NEXT PTA MEETING AND WE NEED YOU!

We would like to invite parents & teachers to attend our PTA meeting on October 8th. We will begin at 5:45 in the Media Center. This doubles as a networking/social time, for parents & faculty members to meet and greet, and then the meeting will start promptly at 6:00 PM. The PTA is a way for you to get involved with the school, share ideas & suggestions, and to get connected with fellow parents and Hoover faculty! We have an all new PTA Board this year and we have big ideas and plans to make this year at Hoover one of the best, but we can't do it alone! We hope to see you on October 8th!

Sincerely,

Rachel Carpenter (PTA President) and the PTA Board
