Thanksgiving Holiday Office Hours
First Friday Adoration/Mass
Praying before the Blessed Sacrament can be the most efficacious way to lift up the needs of our students as well as the needs of SMCS. Our next adoration is on Friday, December 3. Please sign-up using this link. All are also are welcome to join in the morning mass at 7:25am on each of the adoration days.

Math Team Excels
Congratulations to Billy Walsh and Nicholas DeBraal. Billy received a 4th place medal in the senior division at a recent Fox Valley Math League math competition. Nicholas received a 3rd place medal in the freshman-sophomore division. Overall, the Team placed third in the small school division.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Volunteers are needed at our home winter high school athletic events! Families are required to help fill five volunteer spots per student-athlete, per co-curricular athletic activity (to a maximum of 20 spots per family annually). Hours will be tracked and a financial penalty will be charged to each family not volunteering their required hours. Students are allowed to work concession shifts for volunteer hours and family slots this year as long as we have one adult in the concessions area. High School Winter Sport Volunteer Sign Up
SMM Youth Choir Seeks SMCHS Students for Christmas Mass
St. Margaret Mary Parish welcomes high school students to participate in the Christmas Eve Children’s Choir. Their role will be to help guide the younger singers. Rehearsals will follow the 9:30am Mass and will last until 11:30am on December 5, December 12, and December 19, with a 2:55pm arrival for Mass on December 24. Strength and Conditioning Classes
Winter Strength and Conditioning classes continue through February. Classes are from 3:30pm to 5:00pm Monday thru Thursday in the Fitness Center for high school students not in a winter sport. Classes are as follow:

FREE FAFSA Thursdays at FVTC
Students and their parents can receive help completing the 2021-22 and 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at the Appleton FVTC Campus in room G149. Drop in sessions are on Thursdays from 9:30am-10:30am, 11:30am-12:30pm, 2:30pm-3:30pm and 4:30pm-6:00 pm.
ZAPS ACT Test Prep
The ZAPS ACT Test Prep Seminar will be held from 9:00am–3:00pm at Neenah High School on January 15 and at Oshkosh West High School on February 19. The cost is $99. Click here for details and to register.
Junior Conferences
Counselors will begin meeting with juniors and their parents in December to discuss academics, post high school planning, testing (ACT/SAT/PSAT), transcripts, career and college resources and graduation requirements. Parents may participate in-person with their child or virtually via phone or Microsoft Teams. A link to register for conferences will be emailed to parents before Thanksgiving break.
Badger Boys State (BBS) & Badger Girls State (BGS)
BBS and BGS are summer programs that help students who have completed their junior year of high school become better informed citizens on how our government functions. For more information visit the Badger Girls State and Badger Boys State websites. Opportunities will be discussed during junior conferences.
Financial Aid with UW Campuses Virtual Presentation
Join UW HELP, along with representatives from UW-Green Bay, UW-La Crosse and UW-Milwaukee as they discuss the financial aid process, how to compare financial aid offers, how financial aid funds are disbursed, and more. Students and families are encouraged to attend virtually TODAY, November 17 at 3:30pm. Use this link to register in advance; registration is required.
UW Help Sessions
UW HELP is offering one-on-one sessions for students wanting assistance completing the online application for admission, looking for general information about a specific UW campus, or seeking guidance with the admissions process. Students can click here to schedule a 15-minute session with one of UW HELP’s Outreach Specialists.
Virtual Career Experience (VCE) Events
VCE events are online, live interactions with a local healthcare professional. Students will learn about the professional’s academic and career journey, their daily routine, starting or average salary, and types of patients they see or work with throughout a day. Events include: CNA, Lab Director, Athletic Training/Sports Medicine, Nutrition Science and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, and Registered Nurse. Register for events here.
Exploratory Health Careers Course
Seniors who may have an interest in health are able to take a free online “Healthcare Path 2 Practice” class. The class includes six online courses: Health, Patient Care, Information & Biotechnology, Behavioral & Integrative Health, Research/Public Health & Administrative Careers, and Medical Terminology. UW Oshkosh Fall Preview Events
The University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh will be hosting a variety of Preview Events this fall to help students learn more about the three campuses of UW Oshkosh, degrees available, and the opportunities they could have while a student.
Youth Apprenticeship (YA) Informational Sessions
YA is a 1- or 2-year program that gives juniors and seniors the chance to explore a career area of interest. Students spend part of their school day earning credit and wages while they gain valuable industry experience under the guidance of a local business mentor. Virtual Informational Webinars will be held at 5:00pm on several dates. Click on one of the following dates to register: December 8, 2021, and February 2, 2022.
