MFMC Centennial Convention - May 18-19, 2018

Now that MFMC is 100 years old, it's time to celebrate! The convention committee is busy putting the details together for a very special event. The registration should be ready in the next week or so. Internationally acclaimed Mark Hayes will be our featured artist and we are keeping him busy! He will give 2 workshops (one keyboard focused and another more general), direct our Centennial Choir and perform the Friday night concert along with some former Young Artists. What a great opportunity! Singers are encouraged to sign up to sing in the choir by March 1st so we can make preparations. Send contact info and voice part to Myra Lemons. Our historian Connie Craig is putting together a small booklet on our 100 year history. We've asked each district to prepare a small presentation on a 20 year span. District assignments: 1918-1938 is District IV, 1938-1958 is District II, 1958-1978 is District VI, 1978-1998 is District V, 1998-2018 is District I. We look forward to seeing what you have put together!

The convention hotel is the Holiday Inn Country Club Plaza. Go ahead and make your reservations now! The rate is $129/night. This link is applicable for Thursday & Friday night reservations. If you wish to stay additional nights, it is better to call 866-280-6326. The group rate must be booked by April 18th. The group code is MCL or ask for Missouri Federation of Music Clubs.

Most Musical Family and Church Musician of the Year

Time to start thinking of the Most Musical Family and Church Musician of the year. Please send recommendations and resumes to President Julie Watson by April 1st. Typically, families would have 3 or more musicians.

We'd like to welcome a new Associate Club, Hannibal Area Orchestra, under the direction of John Ferguson.
