Volume II, No. 11

Nassau County School District continues to have positive events occurring on our campuses. Take a look at some of the things that have happened recently.

Pirate Food Drive

Fernandina Beach Middle School's Student Council sponsored a canned food drive the week before Thanksgiving and the support was outstanding. FBMS was able to donate over 500lbs of non-perishable food to the Barnabus Food Pantry. Thank You to everyone that supported the cause!

Wildlight Elementary

The Trailblazers Teachers of Tomorrow raised $200 for the Nassau County FIT program. The students gathered baby pictures of teachers and staff and had the student body vote on who they thought the baby pictures were. The money was given as a gift card to buy FIT students new shoes for Christmas.

Purple Day

Yulee High School participated in PURPLE DAY on November 29th in support of raising epilepsy awareness through raffles and wearing purple. Epilepsy affects 1 in 26 people in the U.S. and is more common than Parkinson’s disease, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis and Autism COMBINED….yet no one talks about it. The money Yulee HIgh School raised went to Epilepsy Florida, a non-profit organization that supports the 400,000+ Floridians fighting epilepsy. Mrs. Pinckey thanked her school family by saying, "Thank you for all you do and for the love and support. My family has been deeply affected by epilepsy and we know first hand what a difficult disorder it is for the person fighting it and those that love them."
