Veterans Day Assembly
This year we will be celebrating Veterans Day on November 11th. We would like to take time to honor these individuals by acknowledging their time served and to honor them at an assembly beginning at 10:30 am on that day.
If there is a veteran that you would like to recognize by having them included in our Veterans Day video, please email our LRC director Renee Ignoffo at sharon.ignoffo@d303.org. In your email, please include your child's name, the veteran's name, the veteran's relation to your child, a picture of the veteran, branch of the military, and rank (if known). Please send all pictures to Mrs. Ignoffo no later than Monday, November 4th.
If your child has someone in your family, or a friend of your family, who they would like to invite to attend our assembly please rsvp to Amy Ellis, amy.ellis@d303.org, no later than Monday, November 4th so that we can plan accordingly.
Food Safety Guidelines for Class Parties
Room Party Food Safety Guidelines
The food safety for the students at Ferson Creek is an important issue. Please note the formal food guidelines for classroom parties. These guidelines are intended to simplify the food choices for parties and decrease the risk of allergic reactions within the class and cross contamination in the common areas. All foods must come from the following list found at https://snacksafely.com/snacklist-20191004.pdf. All of these foods are peanut free and some are free of the top eight allergens. Please include one treat and the remainder healthy choices. There are many ideas on Pinterest to turn fruits and vegetables into cute, themed foods. Exercise safe food handling procedures using gloves when necessary. The food plan for each party should be sent to the classroom teacher and nurse via email for approval. The food plan must be sent one full week (7 days) prior to the party. Please include the class code in the Subject line of the email. For example, “Halloween Party Food Plan 4AD.” This will give the classroom teacher and nurse time to check the specific food concerns for each classroom on a timely basis. Thank you for following the guidelines to ensure a safe environment for the safety of all Ferson Creek students.
