Masking, Distancing, and Sanitizing Save Lives

December 7, 2020

Dear Alamo Families,

We have been working diligently to determine final details for January 5: teacher and student cohort assignments, clearing out extra classroom furniture to allow social distancing, recess schedules, campus ingress and egress, bathroom procedures, and much, much more. Check the school portal on December 14 for your child's assignment.

As we continue to plan to reopen in-person learning, we are learning the nuances to mitigate and protect students, teachers, and staff, and slow the spread of COVID-19. We need to consider how to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of students, teachers, staff, their families, and communities by promoting behaviors that reduce COVID-19's spread, maintaining a healthy school campus, and preparing when someone gets sick. There is an abundance of PPE; at least a month's worth of supplies will always be available on campus.

Please do not send a child to school with COVID-like symptoms for everyone's safety, including mild signs of the sniffles or cough. We need to consider all symptoms, no matter how slight, as likely COVID-related. Additionally, update your emergency contacts with a family member or friend who can pick up your sick child from school within 30 minutes from our call. We want your child home as soon as possible for their comfort and the school staff's safety.

Stay safe and healthy!

Warmly,

Mrs. Salazar

YOU can help us put a warm meal on their tables. Visit https://aes.futurefund.com/store to donate - $15 provides a warm meal and $5 provides a toy. You can also help by dropping off unwrapped toys for these families- a collection bin is located outside the school office. Thank you Bar Kastershain and Christina Heil for making this drive happen.
