Appreciations
We'd like to thank those of you who supplied snack items for our special snack yesterday. This, combined with our annual LES parade, made for an exciting and memorable day. We appreciate you!
Study Trip
Remember, we are going to Richmond's Civic Hall on MONDAY for our study trip to the Judy Moody & Stink play. If you have not reserved a packed lunch with the school cafeteria, then your child will need a packed lunch/drink that day.
Picture Retakes
Don't forget...picture retakes will be on Thursday, November 7th for those students that were absent or for those students who wish to return their previously sent home packet and have their photographs retaken.
Science: Solids & Liquids
Our class is beginning a scientific study of solids and liquids. We will observe the properties of many solids and liquids, comparing how solids and liquids are alike and how they are different; organize the results of our inquiries; and communicate both orally and in writing the things we discover. These processes (observing, communicating, comparing, and organizing) are the basic thinking processes students need at this age to develop a scientific understanding of the world around them. During this unit we will be addressing the following Indiana Science Academic Standard:
- "Predict the result of combining solids and liquids in pairs. Mix, observe, gather, record, and discuss evidence of whether the result may have different properties than the original materials."
