Dunn's Corners School
Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
September 17, 2021
Welcome Back!
It has been a fantastic two weeks of school! It was quite the transition for some of our friends due to how the last year went, but everyone pulled together! The children are doing a wonderful job wearing masks, washing their hands, and following the school routines.
This month, our schoolwide theme is "our school as a welcoming place," where every student feels like he or she belongs. We’ll be reminding students to welcome others and act and speak in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. In addition we’ll be reminding students of our Three B's! Ask your child what they are and what they mean. We’ll also begin teaching the Second Step program, which includes lessons that support these behaviors. Support your child at home in welcoming others and acting and speaking in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. Please tell your child’s teacher if you have questions about specific ways you can help your child with these behaviors at home.
Finally, remember to go directly to your child's teacher for any questions, concerns, positive feedback, or for information about the school day.

Attendance Update
The realistic goal is to have less than 5% chronically absent, but ultimately 0%. Chronically absent is defined as being out 10% of the days in school. This data impacts our STAR rating.

We will be using #dcsanchors all over social media. Look for it on twitter, Facebook, and Instagram!
Have a great weekend!
