Blaze Bulletin
Edition 27 - Week of March 30th
Greetings
Teachers and staff,
We appreciate the work all of you did on our part of the district accreditation. Everyone was on a committee, and you all did a fantastic job. The data team and administrators also worked on the BHS part. The following is a "thank you" from Mr. Odom:
I would like to personally thank each of you for the AdvancED preparations, interviews, and for hosting committee members. The visiting committee will be recommending to the national committee Rutherford County’s continued accreditation status. I personally heard many positive comments from individual members of the committee when comparing their own systems to Rutherford County. Some of the more notable were: “Incredible”, “I thought we were doing PLCs but we only have PLC lite”, “We were checking to see if each child had an adult advocate but with your PLCs each child has several advocates.” One of the committee members also works out of the state AdvancED office and told me that she had not seen summary scores that high in Tennessee. If you have not read today’s DNJ story about the accreditation visit, here is the link:

Registration Update:
Although there have been many changes due to snow days and our wonderful basketball teams, we will still have all students registered before spring break! Thank you again to the English teachers for your flexibility with schedule changes and helping us register.
- We have reached out to inform parents about registration more than ever.
- We emailed a newsletter containing the plan and schedule for registration to parents in early February.
- We scheduled a parent information meeting that was scheduled three different times. Since that meeting will not happen until next Thursday, the power point was posted on the school web site.
- We sent home a registration packet that included the registration form with all possible classes each grade level could take, teacher recommendations, transcript, and a graduation checklist.
The last step in our registration process is to send home request verification forms. These will go home the week after spring break. Parents should review forms, make any changes needed, and sign and return.
*Parent override of teacher recommendation forms are in the counseling office and parents may sign these at school any time up until the verification forms are due to be returned.
Reminder...
During Prime Time do not release students out of your class unless they have a PT pass. A student telling you that a teacher wants to see them is not sufficient to release them. Also do not admit students into your classroom unless you have requested them.
Technology Minute
This week's instructional technology minute highlights Padlet. Padlet provides an online canvas for people to collaborate and share ideas. It can be used for word walls, brainstorming, question boards, and more!
