Falcon Newsletter
November 4, 2022 - Pinewood Elementary School
News and Updates:
- Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser for our 4th Grade Coloma Trip - Flyers went home this week with more information. Please return all orders along with money by November 14th.
- Yearbook - Our yearbook is on sale now! We are also asking families to submit pictures to be added to our yearbook. Families can also create custom pages to be added to your child's yearbook. See the link at the bottom of this newsletter for more information.
- PTC - PTC is a group of families and staff members responsible for planning events and fundraisers for our schools. If you are interested in joining our PTC, you can reach out to Heather Minton, or attend the next meeting on November 8th at 2:45 in Room 2.
- Toys for Tots -- We have a Toys for Tots donation box in our front office. Families are encouraged to bring in a new, unwrapped toy to donate.
- Attendance Award - In order to encourage our students to attend school regularly, we are introducing a monthly class attendance award. At the end of each month, the class with the highest attendance rate will get to keep Atty the Attendance Falcon in their classroom for the month. October's winning class was Ms. Curtin's Class!
- Label Items - We are starting to get a large collection of lost and found items. Many items look similar and our students are not able to identify them at the end of the day. Please make sure to label anything your child may take off or set down during the day.
- Sharing Food - This is a reminder that we do not allow students to share food at school. Please reinforce this with your children at home. Thanks!
- Veterans Day Activities - In honor of Veterans Day, our 4th graders are hosting a Veterans Day Breakfast on Thursday, November 10th, starting at 8:15. Students are encouraged to invite a Veteran in their life to breakfast. Families are welcome to join as well. We are also having students participate in a spirit day as well. Students are asked to wear Red, White, and Blue (or camo) to honor our Veterans.
- Pinewood Wrestling Team - Conditioning starts on November 7th for boys and girls of all grade levels. All conditioning and practices will be held at Sierra Ridge right after school. See flyer below for details.
Weekly Focus:
One rule we have here at our school is "Be Responsible". Being responsible helps make our school a place where everyone can learn. When we're responsible, we can be trusted to do the right thing. We help others. WE clean up our messes. We admit when we make mistakes or do the wrong thing. We focus on our schoolwork. This week, think about how you can be responsible and do the right thing in class, in the lunchroom, and out at recess.
