Welcome to Origami Owl!

I would like to congratulate you in making the decision to join Origami Owl as an Independent Designer! My name is Erin Hernandez and I have the pleasure of being your Mentor, or your Mentor's Mentor. Yes- I am your Mama Owl, and I warmly welcome you to the team- Team UN-Believable. I am so glad you have joined our team We are a fun loving, spirited group of women who have the same goal in mind- to achieve success with Origami Owl! We know that when we truly believe we can achieve! I would like to extend out my "helping hand" to you while you figure out what to do with your new business!

Why did you decide to become a Designer with Origami Owl? Always keep that reason in your mind and in your heart and you will achieve success.

We all know that Origami Owl was started by the hopes and dreams of a 14 year old girl named Bella Weems. She really wanted a car, and with the support and help from her mom, her dreams came true. Check out these links to give you more information about how Origami Owl started:

We all fall under one of these lovely ladies, who I call the "Supreme Mother Owls"

You are probably wondering where you fall on the Origami Owl Family Tree here is your lineage:

1. Tami Butcher- Senior Director "Team Believe"

2. Robyn Torres- Senior Director "Team FAB- Faith & Always Believe"

3. Krista Saysanam- Director "Team True Believers" {Krista is my fabulous mentor}

4. Erin Hernandez- ME- Executive Team Leader "Team UNBelievable"

5. You or Your Mentor! WOW!

As you can see, you are not down a line of so many leaders that you will get lost in the mix or will get so confused by names and scratch your pretty head wondering, "Who is she?" It is pretty special to know that only a few leaders are above you ;) Can you say ground floor opportunity?

The Juicy Info- Now Let's Really Get Started!

Ok, so now that you know about the company, where you stand in the company, now let's talk about what to do next:

You are probably wondering where to start first. What to do? How to do it? etc. First of all let me say take a deep breath. BREATHE. I remember what it felt like when I first started. The next step is getting the 411 on what to do, product information, and all the files/resources you can get your hands on because you want to read, take in the knowledge, and run with it.

First of all, get out that great book that came with your starter kit! It is the spiral bound book called START LIVING YOUR DREAMS. Read it!! It is a wonderful training guide for you, full of information, and it also includes checklists and how to do your first Jewelry Bar. Seriously, it is an awesome book.

Next, study this file. It is called Points of Difference. It is important that you have product knowledge of what you are selling!

If you are on Facebook, please request to join our team page if you haven't been added already.

Our team page is a wonderful resource for support and there is a group of fabulous women who are ready to welcome you in. We really love to help each other out. Please do not post anything negative on the page. Any and all frustrations or complaints, venting about stuff, will be removed from the page. No ARGH's, GRR's or UGHH's! This page is a grunt free zone! Yes, this page is for support, but negativity and venting just fosters the wrong vibe for this page and we want to truly keep our group page a happy place where asking questions, celebrations, sharing ideas, and encouragement are the main topics and posts. If you have issues or concerns, shoot your Mentor a message and she will be more than glad to help you work through it! Also, the Team page does NOT substitute as your Mentor! Please be sure to communicate with her when you have questions. That is why she is your Mentor.

***Pay particular attention to Origami Owl's Policies & Procedures***

I recommend you print this, three hole punch the papers and put this in a binder for reference.

Here is a great blog put together by a fellow Team Believer. It has lots of great info of what to do when you first start with Origami Owl (Thanks Sunny Brixey for creating such a great resource!)

Try to log into your website or as we call it "your back office" everyday and check to see if anything new has been posted. Your Mentor does not know anything before you do. Any news we receive is listed under O2Lounge all the way to the right it says "O2 Lounge Blog"

Webinars: These are great! Lots of helpful information. They are posted on the first Monday of the month at 9pm EST. It is not a requirement to listen in on these each month, but they are great to do, especially when you are first starting, to help give you ideas to jump start your business but I recommend to always tune into them, because any new company information will be done during webinars as well.

Do you use Dropbox? It is an online file storage website. It is free to sign up for it. I recommend you do this, then go to the Resources Tab in your backoffice and download all the files you feel will be useful to you and your business and then upload them onto your Dropbox. Do you have a smart phone? Download the app for Dropbox. Now, at your fingertips, you have all the Origami Owl files that you have uploaded. You can pull them up on your phone easily for quick reference. And you can easily share the file, just by texting the link to whoever needs it. It rocks!

Robyn Torres, our Senior Director, has a Dropbox folder that we can access the files. It is an incredible source for information, and the link to it will always be in the pinned post of our team group page, for easy access.

Marketing Yourself and Your New Business as an O2 Independent Designer!

First of all, order yourself some beautiful and high quality, pre-designed business card at:

For marketing and branding purposes and to keep the company's image consistent and because the Nest said so, we can only order cards through Flyer's Direct or by having the business card that are available in your back office (go to tools, document library, business card templates) printed.

Go ahead and set up a Facebook business page and share it with your friends and family!

When you are ready to create your page here are some simple directions:
Then it gives you an option asking what type of business it is. Choose BRAND PRODUCT.
Then Jewelry/Watches
For Name it has to be Origami Owl- your name, Independent Designer
And that is it! Now you can add pictures and whatever you would like. BUT, be diligent in crediting photo sources. If you know you are not the one who took the picture, either do not use it, or credit the person who took the picture. The best way to avoid copyright drama is to use pictures that are from your backoffice, ones that have a watermark on them, or ones you have taken yourself. Remember, we are being a force for good, and editing or cropping out another Designer's name is disrespecting them, because their time and efforts went into creating the beautiful locket photo. Our audience does not know that the Designer's name is another Designer. They see that as a photographer's signature on her work. If it is their website and/or Designer info on the picture, just do not use that picture. Simple.

***Remember, you are now a representative of Origami Owl. Please make sure your posts reflect the company you represent and YOU in a good light. Do not post anything that may offend others or cause controversy. We all come from different backgrounds, and have different beliefs. We all have our own story- that is what Origami Owl is all about- telling our stories, which are all different! As we celebrate our diversity, always choose to be respectful. We never know who is looking at our page.

"Mentoring is a developmental partnership through which one person shares knowledge, skills, information and perspective to foster the personal and professional growth of someone else. The power of mentoring is that it creates a one-of-a-kind opportunity for collaboration, goal achievement and problem-solving."

Please feel free to contact your Mentor or me if you have any questions. We are here to help and happy to do so. You can call me, text me, email me. If I do not get back to you right away, I promise to return your message as soon as I can. Thanks again and I look forward to getting to know you and helping you reach your goals, whether they be big or small.

Welcome to Team UN-Believable! I wish you much luck, happiness, and success!

About Me- My Story....

I have 2 amazing kids… Belle, 10, & Reese, 5. They are exactly 5yrs & 1 day apart. On Belle’s 4th birthday when she blew out her candles she wished for a baby sister for her 5th birthday. (I know SPOILED ) In April of 2012 I found Origami Owl while browsing thru pinterest & I instantly fell in love…. It was a locket just like the one above (but with other initials) I went to the website & saw there was a waiting list to join but wasn’t sure if I wanted to do that because I had never done direct sales before. About a month later I decided to get on the waiting list. I was working about 30hrs a week as an administrative assistant for an oil & gas company when I was laid off… Thankfully they gave me 5wks severance pay & on my last week of pay I received my invitation to join. I definitely felt like this was meant to be. September 7, 2012 I officially got my wings. Once I joined I didn't know anyone. So I read everything I possibly could in the back office waiting for The Nest to assign me a mentor when I remembered a girl I went to high school with had invited me to an Origami Owl Party via Facebook. So I scrolled thru FaceBook found the party & instantly messaged the Designer…. It was the fabulous Krista Saysanam. We ended up living 10minutes from each other a few phone calls later I had myself a mentor! Origami Owl has definitely changed my life for the better…. I have formed some amazing friendships, met some incredible women, gained a self confidence I didn't know I was missing, I am able to provide for my family & still get to stay home with my girls, Origami Owl has not only made me a better wife & mother but I have grown as a person too. I am here to help you grow your business whether you are doing this part-time or full-time or just some of the time. Whatever your goal is I want to help you reach it. Congratulations on receiving your wings. I am so excited for you and the journey has just begun.

Erin xoxo
