Alder Weekly Update
Week of February 7, 2021
Message from the Principal
Hello Students, Parents, and Staff!
We had another busy week at Alder! With an extra virtual snow day and conferences, the week flew by. Teachers had an opportunity to virtually connect with parents. When our students know we are communicating, we show them the importance of their school work and being present!
Parents - As always, please remember to complete the Health Screen any time your child has symptoms. Keep your child home if there are any concerns on the screening. If your child or family members should have any Covid-related health concerns, such as a contact with someone positive, please report it and again, keep your child home. Our school nurse Melanie Charlton is at email charltom@eht.k12.nj.us and phone number, 609-383-3366 ext. 1411. She is always willing to help, listen to concerns and answer questions. She will offer you guidance with any health related issues.
Students- Keep attending classes, doing your work and studying for tests. It is important. Reach out to your teachers and ask for help. There is small group time and virtual help set aside every day. We are all here to help. If your issue is not about academics, but it is affecting your school work, our counselors are here to help.
This week we met with our Pandemic Response Team on 2/10. We listened to feedback and offered our Alder Team a framework and forum to voice concerns. We understand the pros and cons of our current situation better now. We shared these with Dr. Gruccio, so that decisions are made with input from all stakeholders. Please let us know through email if there are any issues or concerns that you are willing to share. We always welcome differing viewpoints and insightful thoughts as we navigate through hybrid and virtual instruction; as well as the social emotional issues in this environment.
Please enjoy the three day weekend with your families and stay safe!
