We Need School Parents To Attend Casino Night!
Did you know that proceeds from Casino Night will benefit OUR children? The success of this event is critical to the health and longevity of St. Ann School. That being said, it's also FUN! Who doesn't want to have a great time?
There are so many ways to get lucky that night: poker, craps, roulette, and blackjack. Raffle baskets. Auction prizes like vacation homes, sports tickets, or a ride to school on a firetruck for your kiddos. The Booze Cart. THE POT OF GOLD $15k JACKPOT. And let's not forget the fabulous food, open bar, and dancing the night away with our own school dad DJ, Alex Correa!
We also need attendees to work one hour shifts, assigning wristbands, selling raffle tickets, etc. Fun, easy jobs where you can meet people and feel great about helping. The very small committee has already put in countless hours on this--they need your help for one hour that night. All of our teachers are signed up for shifts already. Join them! Sign up here.
TICKET SALES CLOSE ON MARCH 8, so you'd better act soon if you want to attend! Tix are $50 each and include dinner, open bar, and dancing, plus the cash casino gaming and so many other chances to win fun stuff. There will also be a prize for the class that has the highest percentage of parent and teacher participation (attending, donating, working, they all count).
Let's Give A Warm SAS Welcome to New Kindergarten Teacher, Mrs. Stacey Barry!
A bit about Mrs. Barry in her own words:
I graduated from Calumet College of St. Joseph with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I did my student teaching at St. Thomas More School in Munster and have spent time in primary school classrooms in the East Chicago Public School system as well as at a charter school in the Gary Community School Corporation. My life experiences also include managing a homeless shelter and working as a case manager within the juvenile court system and for the Department of Child Services.
I believe that learning is a lifelong pursuit that never ends. The best gift that can be given to a child is facilitating his or her quest for information and stoking their passion for learning and knowledge. I love to see a student’s eyes light up when he or she truly understands something or solves a problem. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family, read, and tend to my flowers and garden. I also try to make time throughout the year to hike, camp, and kayak the local waterways.
