With October and May being the months to celebrate Mary, our students will be participating in our annual Living Rosary on Friday, October 26 at 2:15 pm in the IC Church. All are welcome to join us.


On Wednesday, October 31, we will be hosting our Halloween Parade after lunch. We look forward to seeing all the student's school-appropriate costumes as they parade through the halls of CCA. Please see the Halloween guidelines in today's Carrier.


Next week we will have two school Masses. Our regularly scheduled school Mass on Tuesday and then our All Saints Day Mass on Thursday at 8:25 am. All are welcome.

Exploring School Choice for 2019-2020

Christ Child Academy continues to search for ways to make Catholic education available to any families who seek it. For many years, we have partnered with the Carl and Charlotte Hren Foundation to make education at Christ Child Academy possible for families. Over the last ten months, there has been much research and exploration regarding the possibility of becoming part of School Choice. To expand access to Christ Child Academy, the Governance Board, the Christ Child Academy Finance Committee, and all three parishes finance councils recommend applying for the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program for the 2019-2020 school year. The complete letter is included in today's carrier and attached below. As we continue with this discussion, we will keep you updated.

A HUGE thank you to all the amazing CCA families that made this year's Book Fair a success! Together, we had $1,585 in sales, giving us a profit of $793 to spend on books for Summer Reader Winners, classroom libraries, and new titles to the school's library! Thank you to all of you who have donated books this year to the library and classrooms. Much appreciation to the Brickley Family, Kelly Family, Sejut Family, Krautkramer Family, Stauber/Morales Family, Werner Family, and Mrs. Hoffmann!

Seeking Catholic Schools Week Coordinators

We are currently seeking a few volunteers to coordinate our Catholic Schools Week which runs from January 26th through February 2nd. This celebration of Catholic education is a fun-filled week with exciting dress-up days for the students, service activities, and a focus on the importance of Catholic education. Thank you to Jana McDonough, Christine Minneci, and Brenda Binversie for coordinating these activities for several years.

7/8 Grade Volleyball Team

Congratulations to the 7/8 grade volleyball team for being invited to the Seton Volleyball Tournament (equivalent to the Padre for basketball. Their first game will be on Tuesday, October 30 at 7:30 pm at Center Court on court #2 in Wakesha.

St. Peter Claver Food Pantry Food Drive

St. Peter Claver Food Pantry Drive

Jesus said, “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me.”


During the week of October 29 we will be collecting canned food items such as fruits, vegetables, soups, spaghetti sauce, and fruit juices.


During the week of November 5 we will be collecting boxed items such as cereal, rice, noodles, pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, jam, boxes of Jell-O, macaroni, pudding, crackers, cookies, and fruit or vegetable juices.


During the week of November 12 we will be collecting personal care items such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, family size bars of soap, boxes of tissue, and toilet tissue.


All donations will be greatly appreciated! There will be collection boxes in each classroom.

CCA Calendar Raffles

One of our main fundraisers each year is the Annual Calendar Raffle. The money raised help to keep our tuition rates as low as possible. The Calendar Raffle is a pocket calendar that features special events throughout the year at Christ Child Academy as well as some advertising. We will draw $30 winners every day of the school year. On special holidays that are listed, the cash payout is $200! The cost per Calendar is just $20.00.


As in past years, each family will receive 20 calendars to sell. This is the minimum number that we would like each family to sell. Our goal is to sell 2500 calendars for a net profit of about $40,000!!


All calendars must be sold and turned in by January 2nd, 2019 (First day back after Christmas break). State law prohibits us from selling calendars past the first drawing. We encourage you to turn the tickets in as they are sold; please do not hold on to them as we want to make sure that none get lost or forgotten.


Make sure to take the raffles with you to family get-togethers. The calendars also make great birthday or Christmas gifts for your friends and family.

THIS SATURDAY – CCA Neighborhood Calendar Raffle Sale!! Meet at the Main office on Saturday, October 27th at 9:30 a.m. Bring your Calendar Raffles and you will be assigned an area to sell. See the flyer in today’s carrier for details on how you can earn points and win prizes!!

CCA Calendar Raffle Incentives

Congratulations to the following families for meeting the first incentive in selling 10+ Calendar Raffles by October 22nd. The children of these families will participate in an ice cream sundae party over lunch on Thursday, November 1st. Pre-school children are invited to join us at the party right after they get out of school in the music room.

Our next incentive is to sell 15+ Calendar Raffles by Monday, November 19th at 3:15 pm. Remember, this is cumulative. If your family meets this incentive, your children will participate in a Pizza party lunch on Thursday, November 29th.


We have sold 421 Calendar Raffles so far - Keep up the great work on selling!!

Save the Date

Home & School will be hosting a Halloween Party this Friday, October 26 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Staskunas Activity Center/Gym. See the flyer in today's Carrier.


A Brat Fry will be held at Piggly Wiggly on Saturday, November 10 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. More information to follow soon.

8th Grade Seroogy Chocolate Sale

The annual 8th Grade CANDY SALE has begun! As in the past years, those delicious SEROOGY chocolates will be available for you to order from any CCA 8th grade student until Monday, October 29. Items available for order include SEROOGY boxed Chocolates, SEROOGY Fudge Trays, a variety of SEROOGY Candy Bars, SEROOGY Gourmet Coffees, and SEROOGY "Santa Claus" and "Snowman" chocolate novelties. With Thanksgiving, St. Nick's Day, and Christmas just around the corner (and estimated delivery by the week of November 6 - 10) these items make excellent gifts and/or stocking-stuffers for those "hard-to-buy-for" people on your holiday shopping list! (People who have tried SEROOGY candy items will attest to the quality, freshness, and value of their products.) Thank you for your support of this endeavor! CCA 5th - 8th Grade Boys and Girls Mandatory Basketball Meeting

Coats for Kids - Last Call!

The Student Service Council will once again be collecting coats for the Annual Coats for Kids Drive. Any gently used coats, hats, gloves, boots, or scarves can be dropped off in the barrel at the school's main entrance now through October 31st. What a great way to help those in our community and teach our children the goodness of giving. Thanks for your support!

BINGO SIGN-UP

Roncalli High School

Roncalli is holding an open house on Wednesday, November 7th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm for families with students in grades 5 -8. There will be tours of the school, demonstrations by different departments, and an opportunity to ask questions regarding our school including transportation, grants, and scholarships. At the end of the evening, there will be two $500 tuition voucher drawings.

2018 Annual Fund Appeal

The 2018 Annual Fund Appeal for Christ Child Academy will be kicking off in November and our goal for this year is $75,000. Monies raised help enrich programs, technology, academics, arts, and help us to keep tuition reasonably affordable.


This year, we have added a new feature for your convenience. We have partnered with GoFundMe to accept online donations for our Annual Fund Appeal.

Safeguarding All God's Family

If parents or grandparents plan to participate in field trips, work in the lunchroom, coach, or help out at school, you must attend a Safeguarding All God’s Family training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. You must register on-line at www.archmil.org and indicate you are associated with Christ Child Academy. If you have not previously been trained, now is a great time to attend a session.

School Mass Attire

Students are to wear their CCA polo shirts with the logo along with dress or Khaki pants or a skirt for the girls. Polo shirts are to be tucked in for both boys and girls. Any additional items such as sweaters or vests must have the CCA logo and be worn over the polo shirt. These additional items are available on the Land's End website. Yoga pants are not to be worn to Mass except under a skirt and in a solid color.

Box Tops for Education

CCA can earn money from clipping Box Tops found on various products. When you buy items, simply clip the Box Top and bring it to CCA. The Box Tops are submitted, and our school receives a check which is used towards our activity fund. It’s another easy way for you to help the school by purchasing the products you already use! Enlist your family, friends and neighbors to collect the Box Tops, too.

Kwik Trip Milk Moola

CCA will receive 5¢ (five cents) for each cap or milk bag top they redeem from Nature’s Touch® products. The program will only accept specially marked caps and bag tops that feature the Milk Moola symbol. Thank you to Paula Hilbert, who has been overseeing this program for many years!

Donations needed for our STEAM program

Throughout the school year, we will be in need of donations of the following items to support our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program at all levels. We will let you know when to begin dropping these off at school. Please start collecting these items.

5. Cardboard tubes (wrapping paper, toilet paper, paper towels)

SCRIP Information

Welcome to a new school year! Start saving money on your tuition by purchasing Scrip. Our Scrip store is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-3:10 in the Conference Room of the former IC parish offices (next to Mrs. Lampe's office). CCA Student Referral Program

The purpose of the Student Referral Program is to reward current Christ Child Academy families for increasing and sustaining enrollment at Christ Child Academy.

A referral award will be paid to a current Christ Child Academy family who successfully recruits and/or refers a new student to Christ Child Academy within the guidelines. Please go the the forms link for more information.

Substitutes Needed!!

If you like interacting with the kids, and can be flexible. If you enjoy different settings, and different age groups of kids. This is what you have been looking for! We need substitute teachers from Kindergarten through 8th grade. If you are interested, please call Judy Banie in the school office. Qualifications: Current Wisconsin Educator License, OR a Bachelor's Degree, and a Wisconsin Substitute Teacher Permit.
