Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
Thank you to our teachers and staff for all they have done this school year, both on campus and from home. This school year is definitely like no other. Teachers have had to adjust their teaching format, become creative and tech savvy in this time of Distance Learning and the staff has had to find ways to support the teachers, MV students and families as well. We appreciate you all! Your MV PTSA will be showing some appreciation soon. Stay tuned.
Progress Notices
While we traditionally print Progress Notices, these notices will not be printed during this time. Quarter 4 Progress Notices have been uploaded to the student's MyPlan account. Progress Notices will have a grade of IP (In Progress) for every class as they are working to receive credit at the end of Quarter 4. Along with the IP grade, parents will have access to updates regarding their student’s participation in classes which will be one of three (3) comments:
- Consistently Engaging in Distance Learning
- Not Consistently Engaging in District Learning
- Not Engaging in Distance Learning

Baking With Fice
A big part of school is the teacher/student relationship. During this time of Distance Learning, Mrs. Danielle Fice realized the only interaction between her and her students was instructional, clarification and feedback. She felt that her class lost that “fun” time; time to have non-academic conversations, time to joke, and time to just talk and share amongst all the students. So Mrs. Fice decided to host a baking show, Baking With Fice, which she hosts every Thursday live from her kitchen.
Each week she selects a family recipe to share with her students. Over the next few weeks there will be a few guest bakers (other staff members and even some students). Mrs. Fice wants to give students something to look forward to each week during this time. This is an optional Enrichment Zoom that she provides to her students. If your student is interested in participating in Baking With Fice, please email Mrs. Fice for details.

Canvas Application for Mobile Phones
MVMS Parents, you may find this information helpful for staying connected through Distance Learning. The Canvas Application (MyConnect) has a mobile application that you can download for your phone. You will just need the same parent log in information as you would for PUSD.
- Search and Download the Free Canvas Parent Application
- Find the Poway Unified School District for access to its information
- Select Poway Unified School District
- Log In by using your PUSD Parent Log In Information
Once you are in the application, you can click on your child’s classroom/teacher information. If you have multiple students in the district, you can choose your child by selecting the down arrow. Each teacher should have a Front Page for you to view information.
