4) Save the date for the annual YALA/YACS holiday celebration on Friday December 16th from 7-10 p.m. upstairs at the Blue Nile. Food, beverages, live music, and lots of fun will be provided by YALA.
5) To show their appreciation of all the hard work and effort of the YACS faculty and staff, YALA is sending a yoga teacher from Peaceful Warriors again this Friday after school in the gym at 4:00pm. This will be the fourth of five classes, and the group also offers yoga as classroom management classes if teachers are interested. Check out Project Peaceful Warriors' website here.
Notes from the School Leader
1) With Celebration of Learning coming up on December 13th, we want to make sure that we display all of the creative work of our students. Please utilize all of the bulletin boards to show off the great things you've accomplished this semester.
2) Thank you to Brandy, Ms. Scott, Brian, Mi Wha, and Chris for your hard work on Beautification Day. Let's honor their efforts by keeping our school clean!
3) If you have not done so already, please return the surveys you received for your students who attend the after school program to the office immediately. Survey data comprises a major component of the program evaluation, so it is incredibly important to turn these in before Thanksgiving break..
Notes from the Assistant School Leader
Next week, we will administer Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) for Math and ELA. These assessments were designed by the Curriculum Committee to measure mastery of standards that have been covered on the Essential Maps thus far. Questions were carefully formulated to determine mastery of various standards. It will be used as an essential tool to help make instructional decisions as a team. The window for administering CFAs will be December 5-7th. We will have Data Dives towards the end of the week to analyze the data collected. If there are any questions, feel free to talk to someone on the committee!
MAP Administration
The second administration of MAP will be January 9th-20th, 2017. Save the dates! More information on logistics are soon to come.
Team Lead Meeting
