The Dolphin Whistle
May 25th- Issue 37
Message from Ms. Lambert
Dear Parents,
As the year comes to a close, I would like to give you an update and reminders about the construction plans. Beginning Monday, June 13 the construction crew will begin demolition of Rooms 17-30.
At the same time the temporary campus will be built on the field and part of the blacktop. When the school year begins on August 15, Kinder and Fifth grade classrooms will be in one of these temporary portable classrooms. Rooms such as counseling, Reading Partners, Intervention, etc. will also be in one of the temporary classrooms, as will some of the Mistral rooms. The office will remain in the same place for next year.
The play area for the students will be a small part of the blacktop and half of the field. This will just be for one school year and I know that we can all cooperate together and be flexible during this year of change. It will be worth it, as in August 2017 Mariano Castro students will have a brand new school!
If you have any questions about next school year, please feel free to give me a call.
Best Regards,
Congratulations to 5th Grade families and students
Congratulations to you and your student for completing the 5th Grade Instrumental Music program. For many students, a life-long relationship with their instrument begins in 5th grade. Each student made great progress in these short months, and we hope that your student will continue their musical journey by participating in Middle School Band or String Orchestra.
If you borrowed an instrument from the District, they will collect the instruments at your child's school, during the school day. The District has a list of students participating in the Summer Honor programs, and will allow those students to continue using the instrument over the summer.
Thank you again for your continued support of music and the arts!
Best,
Leah Lader,
Music4 Schools Program Manager
