Almost all of our children's programs include an activity and / or a craft.
Teen Services
Teens continue to enjoy our programs.
We did have an overall drop of approximately 9% in attendance in October, however we had 33% fewer programs in October. Special events included C.J. Redwine, NY Times bestselling author, and our Fall Festival.
C.J. Redwine
The bestselling author of Shadow Queen was here on October 6th! The teens greatly enjoyed speaking with her.
Scavenger hunt
Teens hunted up facts (and fiction) through the library.
Fall Festival
Costumes, caramel apples, open mic performances & hanging out! What's not to like?
Adult Services and Community Outreach
This fall, our Reference Librarian, Zach LeBrun, has created new social media reader's advisory services, we have partnered with local civic groups for our POW display, children's costume collection, and we are a pick up and information distributor for the City of Hendersonville's Leaf Collection program.
Reader's Advisory Services
Zach has created new recommendations on Facebook, a series of youtube reviews on our new Comics Plus program, and has continued the popular Non-Fiction Now! reviews (on youtube).
Community
Our POW / MIA display table was created by the VFW 9851. Several groups, including League of Women Voters, held candidate forums in the Community Room. We provided room for the City of Hendersonville Fire and Police exams.
Compliments
We've received a number of compliments these past two months!
"Vicky is great!"
The man working upstairs helped me get my job! (at Walmart)
And a really sweet card from one of the kids to Miss Amanda, our children's librarian.
