Fruitport Tech Update
Summer 2015 Accomplishments
Summer Tech Update
We have been very busy getting ready for the 2015-16 school year. During this summer we set up 12 additional classroom Chromebook carts, prepared over 200 teacher Chromebooks, and increased the capacity of the district Wi-Fi.
We are ready to meet the technology demands of our students and embark on another successful school year!
12 Additional Classroom Chromebook Carts
We have added 12 new Chromebook carts for classroom use. The carts are manufactured by Aver Media and hold 36 Chromebooks each. We loaded each cart with 32 Acer 13" Chromebooks for student use.
Teacher Chromebooks
As we move toward a 1:1 environment by the 2016-17 school year, one step is to get all of our teachers comfortable with how Chromebooks work and how they can implement their lesson using these new devices. To assist in this process, each teacher was given a new Chromebook for school use.
Increased District Wi-Fi Capacity
As we add more wireless devices to the district, we need to ensure that our infrastructure can handle the additional demand. To this end, the district wireless network was examined and additional access points were added or moved in each building so we have a robust network.
