Principal's Message
Good afternoon,
Thank you all for a great start to our second quarter! Our students seems to be settling into the routine of school, and we are really enjoying getting to know them. They are definitely a fun group!
I want to make sure that you all have the grade cut off dates for this quarter so you can help support your student's academic success for the rest of this semester:
- 1st 3-weeks: October 13 - October 30
- 2nd 3-weeks: November 2 - November 20
- 3rd 3-weeks: November 30 - December 18
I have also attached the final exam schedule for this semester. More details and reminders will come about about that between now and then, but I want to make sure that these dates are on your radar as well.
Thank you for all that you do to support your student. We appreciate you!
Sincerely,
Melanie Bujnoch

P.S. Don't forget to vote!
Picture Day is coming!
- In-person learners will have their pictures taken during their World Geography class period
- Remote learners are invited to come to campus to have their school picture taken as well. Students can come any time on Wednesday or Thursday from 7:30 - 2:30. They will need to check in at the front office, follow the signs to the library, have their picture taken, then check out. Parents can wait for them in the visitor parking lot at the front of the school. We want EVERYONE included in the yearbook, so if possible, please bring your student to have their picture taken. We will make it quick!
You do not have to order pictures for your student's picture to be in the yearbook, but if you are interested in purchasing them, here is the Picture Order Form from the photographer.
Questions regarding school pictures can be sent to our yearbook teacher, Ms. Amanda Armour at aarmour@conroeisd.net.
Freshman Focus
- Motivational Speaker Coach Chip Baker
- Goal Setting workshops with Coach Cloudy and Coach Chancellor
- GPA and "navigating high school" sessions with our ORHS9 Counselors and APs
- An introduction to Naviance from our College and Career Readiness Center
- and some Freshman Family fun time!
We all had a great morning and are looking forward to seeing our students achieve their goals, earn the GPAs they want, and have a successful ninth grade year.
First Pep Rally
All of this information will be communicated to students, but I want to make sure you all are aware as well.
To attend pep rallies at Oak Ridge, we require the students to sign up on a Google Form. They will need to be logged into their CISD Google account to access the form. Here is the sign up form to attend the pep rally on October 29th.
This pep rally will take place during 8th period that day. Students will be released to go to the pep rally from the ninth grade campus between 1:45 and 1:50 so they have time to walk to the stadium on the senior campus.
The pep rally will last from 1:56 until approximately 2:25 when students will be released to go to the busses. If your student chooses to attend the pep rally and rides a bus, please help us by encouraging them to to straight to the bus after the pep rally. We will not be holding busses late to wait for students, so if they are not there by 2:40 when the busses leave, they will need to find alternate transportation home.
Attending pep rallies is optional. Students who choose not to attend pep rallies remain in their classroom with a teacher.
Homecoming Week is November 9th - November 14th
Our parade this year will be a little bit of a reverse parade where the "floats" will be stationary and the spectators will drive through. The parade will be on Wednesday, November 11th.
We are having a fall festival this year instead of a dance. There will be food trucks, games, and lots of fun for everyone. The event is free, but we will be collecting donations for the Montgomery County Food Bank this year, so please donate as you are able.
We will have dress up days each day that week:
- Monday, November 9th - Breakfast Club (Pajama Day)
- Tuesday, November 10th - Star Wars
- Wednesday, November 11th - Disney
- Thursday, November 12th - Superhero
- Friday, November 13th - Red Carpet (dress nice on this day)
***School dress code guidelines should still be followed on dress up days***
Please email Theresa Neman (tneman@conroeisd.net) with questions about homecoming activities.
