#BeKind21
October is always a busy and exciting time at Reynolds School. We celebrated #BeKind21 throughout the month in a very special way. Mrs. Slacin, our School Counselor, gave each class a Secret Kindness Mission to complete during the month of October. Each mission was unique, but they all focused on spreading joy throughout our building. The students left kind messages for other classes, surprised staff members with songs, and delivered artwork and poems. We had such a beautiful month spreading kindness to one another. As we conclude the month, we will be coming back together to celebrate all of our Kindness Missions and present students with a new challenge that will encourage them to keep spreading kindness each and every day.
Halloween Parade
Thank you for joining us for our annual Halloween parade! We are very grateful that the Cavallini band was able to play for us. They really sounded wonderful. We hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did!
If you guessed that my costume was Tinkerbell... you were right!
Kindergarten Visit to the Fire House
October is Fire Prevention month and our Kindergarten students visited the Upper Saddle River Fire House to learn all about Fire Safety. We are so grateful to the USR fire department for spending time teaching our students about the important role they play in our community.
Pumpkin Math
In First Grade, the students combined the spirit of the season with math. Parent volunteers helped the students during Pumpkin Math. The students predicted the number of seeds, and the pumpkinās height, weight, and circumference. They then used tools to find the actual measurements before carving their pumpkins!
Thanks to the Saddle River Garden Club
A special thanks to the Saddle River Garden Club for visiting Reynolds School again this year. Members of the club met with each second grade class. During their visit, the Garden Club taught our students about plants, read them a story, and gave them each an opportunity to plant a daffodil around the big tree in the front of Reynolds. Adding a touch of beauty to our school is just another way to spread kindness. We can't wait to see our new daffodils bloom in the spring!
November Great Cereal Box Donation Challenge
Throughout the month of November, we will be collecting boxes of cereal to donate to a local food pantry. We are so excited to see how many boxes we can donate. To add to the excitement, in early December, we will line up all of our cereal boxes as dominos and watch them fall together as a school community. Let's see how many boxes we can collect for the Great Cereal Box Donation Challenge!
