WHAT HAS STUDENT LEADERSHIP BEEN UP TO?

Our focus this month is spreading kindness in our school

"How can we, as BLE leaders, promote kindness in our school? Since the meeting where we introduced the idea of rallying the whole school to be do more acts of kindness, members of the Student Leadership team have come up with many ideas to promote kindness. Some include decorating the custodians door, a "kindness" sensory circuit, hiding bookmarks in library books that offer kind words for the unexpected reader and decorating the mirrors in the girls bathrooms with encouraging quotes.

THE DAWG HOUSE IS OPEN EVERY MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND FRIDAY MORNING(SCHOOL STORE)

*****MARCH IS READING MONTH*****

March is reading month, so get excited! Our books are based on a mystery theme this year. We

have chosen two great books to enjoy. The amazing K-2nd grade students will enjoy The Trouble With Chickens by Doreen Cronin. Our awesome 3rd -5th graders will be reading Crime Biter! My Dog is Better Than Your Dog by Tommy Greenwald. There will be a reading calendar sent home with your child to help them enjoy reading during March. We hope you enjoy reading month and the fun you can have getting lost in a book together!

WE HAVE EXTRA STUDENT DIRECTORIES- SEE BELOW

**REMINDERS FROM THE PTA**

  • BLE directories are in. If you paid to become a member of our PTA you should have received a directory. If you did not join and are still interested you may send in cash or checks payable to the BLE PTA in the amount of $10. Please include a note with your child(ren) names, parents name, and email address.
  • Seuss Fair is coming up! Be on the lookout for information on raffle tickets, silent auction, basket donations, and volunteering.
  • We welcome everyone to join us in our PTA meetings. Fresh faces bring new ideas to planning the events for our students. Grab a friend or come by yourself. You can choose to sit quietly or voice your opinion. These meetings are light and fun, we recap previous events and seek out advice from one another. In addition to new faces, if you are the chair of an event we would love to hear about your planning processes and outcome of your event.
