Sigler Elementary Monday Memo

October 8th - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

#SiglerNation

#SiglerNation is a family who comes together focused on one goal; the success, growth and progress of our students and school community. We accomplish this with the mindset of being happy choosing the frame we view life through as we enter the doors of Sigler Elementary. Shawn Achor, the author of “The Happiness Advantage: The 7 Principles that Fuel Success and Performance at Work” states, “If you can raise somebody's level of positivity in the present, then their brain experiences what we now call a happiness advantage, which is your brain at positive performs significantly better than at negative, neutral or stressed. Your intelligence rises, your creativity rises, your energy levels rise. In fact, we've found that every single business outcome improves.” While we do not necessarily look at Sigler as a business, we do acknowledge improvement is the equivalent to success. With that understanding, we want you to join in our theme for the 18-19 school year...“Sigler is OUR Happy Place”.

Hispanic Heritage Month

#SiglerNation will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month focusing on a specific theme each week.

This week we will conclude our celebrations with DANCE that represents the Hispanic culture. Students and staff are encouraged to celebrate the diversity offered through DANCE. Each morning, with the help of Ms. Patino, we will introduce students to a variety of dances on morning announcements.
