Principal's Post

Did you know? When Prairie View Elementary was built, the Eagle mascot traveled to PVE along with the staff and students from Frederick Post Elementary. Over time we became the Prairie Dogs. During the last week of May, our staff and students voted on whether we should remain the Prairie Dogs or return to our roots and become the Eagles. The results are in... and our new mascot is the Eagle! We look forward to 'soaring' to new heights next year! (Please note the Prairie Dog t-shirts will always be in style!)

We hope to incorporate an eagle into our current PVE logo (see above right). If you would like to enter a piece of artwork to be considered, please email it to before the last day of school. We encourage submissions from all members of the PVE family: staff, students, and parents!

Are you missing a coat, mittens, or a lunchbox? Claim your child's items from the lost and found in front of the school on the following dates:

  • Thursday, June 3 from 2:30 - 3:15
  • Friday, June 4 from 2:30 - 3:15
  • Saturday, June 5 from 9:00 - 11:00
  • The last day of school

Please park in the parking lot and walk to the display rather than parking along the curb so we can keep the flow of traffic moving. All items will be donated after the last student day.

Students: Keep your skills sharp this summer by logging in to Clever and working on iReady (math) and Istation (reading). You can also check out ebooks and audiobooks from Sora, our digital library. Click on the button for Mrs. Ray's library site below for details!

As always, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher with any questions. Have a safe and happy summer!
