11th Grade College & Career
Quarter 2 - November 13, 2015
Looking Forward
This quarters meeting focused on setting Juniors up to be in the best possible position for their senior year. ACT and scholarships was our focus.
ACT
Due to the state budget issues, the state will not be providing a free ACT test to students this year. Triopia has encouraged Juniors to get together with friends and decide on a date and location to take the test. Most test dates are available in both Beardstown (HS) and Jacksonville (IC). The cost of the test is $39.50 or $56.50 with writing. Students with Free or Reduced Lunch status, can pick up a fee waiver from Mrs. Surratt.
What sets you apart?!?!
Junior year is the perfect time to begin thinking about scholarship opportunities. Students were urged to figure out what sets them apart from their classmates and other high schoolers. Now is the time to put on those extra hours volunteering, taking summer community college classes, or networking with professionals.
