In the Classroom
Reading: 6 Most Important Decisions
Writing: We are currently working on our Argumentative Essay: Current Domestic Policy Issue
Please check Google Classroom regularly for Research paper updates and scheduled due date changes.
Tentative Research check due dates:
Evidence is due on 2/12
Introduction is due on 2/13
Claim Body paragraphs are due on 2/15
Counterclaim paragraph is due on 2/21
Conclusion paragraph is due on 2/23
Students are working with a partner. Each person is in charge of finding 4 pieces of evidence (3 for the claim and 1 for the counter claim). After researching, the partners will then choose 2 pieces of evidence supporting their claim and 1 supporting their counterclaim out of the 8 combined that they have found and written down.
The next step would be for each student to write their own introduction. After writing their own introduction paragraph they will choose portions of each intro paragraph to combine and formulate a final introduction paragraph.
Each component of the essay will be completed this same way. So, therefore, the checkpoints above refer to the final combined paragraphs.
Science: We are currently studying Physics: Motion

Social Studies: There is a test on Thursday, February 15th
** No assignments can be turned in after the tests.
Second Step Updates (Character Education)- Upcoming Lessons
Lesson 21: Values and Relationships
In this week’s lesson, your child will draw connections between their values and the healthy relationships in their life.
Ask your child about how one of their values shows up in a healthy relationship they have. This could be a friendship, a sibling or other familial relationship, or even a professional relationship with a teacher or coach.
Lesson 22: Recognizing Others' Perspectives
In this week’s lesson, your child will practice viewing conflicts from multiple perspectives to keep conflicts from escalating.
Tell your child about a time when your view of a conflict changed because you were able to see it from another person’s perspective. Ask your child if they have changed their view of a conflict lately.
