Academy of the Arts at Bransom
August 21-25 (Days 1-5)
A Note From Your Principal
Today will be exciting for obvious reasons but it will be extra special because of what our students will learn about the solar eclipse. Remember that we are taking precautions to make sure students are safe during the eclipse but you can opt out of the event by notifying our office immediately. If you have already signed and returned the "opt out" form, you do not need to make any additional notifications.
Today begins a year of learning for all students at the Academy of the Arts at Bransom. It is never too early to get your child on track for a great year. Without question the number one thing you can do to make this year successful is to make sure your child is at school every day unless he/she is sick. It is very difficult to fully make up the teaching that is missed when your child is out. Teacher and student interactions are priceless and necessary for the full learning experience.
Another way to support the highest level of learning is to read with your child everyday. Yes, everyday. This is true for our emerging readers as well as our experienced readers. Your dedication to making time everyday to read with your child will make a difference for a lifetime. Don't miss out for your child's sake as well as your own.
In closing, let me say that as I begin my ninth year as the principal at the Academy of the Arts at Bransom Elementary, I've never been more excited about the growth children will make with the special collection of teachers and staff we have with us this year. The entire staff is ready for making this the best year yet. Their positive attitudes and excitement toward our children is enormous.
I know that each of you have a choice about where to send your child to school and you chose the Academy of the Arts at Bransom Elementary. Thank you so much!
Your VERY EXCITED Principal,
Mrs. Burchfield
A Note From Your Assistant Principal
To help kick start the 2017 school year, I invited the World Champion Centennial Spartan Drum Line to welcome our Bobcats back to school!. It was an awesome experience for our students and parents and this is only the beginning...there are great things to come at the Academy of the Arts @ Bransom!
