Interact Club-Jeans for Troops
The Interact Club works on community service projects that benefit our school, community, and the world. For the last few years (except last year) we celebrated Veteran's Day by holding a Jeans For Troops Fundraiser.
The Interact Club will be running announcements asking students to donate $1 and staff to donate $5 on November 11th to receive a sticker to show they contributed. We appreciate your support!
IMPORTANT REMINDER-CULVER'S AND WALGREENS
Culver's and Walgreens will be limiting the number of students allowed in their establishments after school hours (including early dismissal days) without a parent/guardian or adult.
Culver's
There will be a limit of 15 students allowed in the restaurant at a time and there will be a twenty-minute time limit in the dining area.
Walgreens
There will be a limit of 2 students allowed in the store at one time. No bookbags will be allowed in the store. If there are more than 2 students, a parent/guardian must be with the students.
Shield Testing 10-26-21
James Hart School tested 697 students and staff through Shield on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, and there was one positive case. The positive case and the close contacts have been personally notified about quarantine procedures. Classroom notifications have been emailed. The final results will be posted to the COVID dashboard on the HSD 153 web page.
Vision and Hearing Screenings
Illinois Department of Public Health mandates hearing and vision screening for all Illinois students at specific ages and grade levels, and these screenings will begin soon at James Hart.
School screenings are not a substitute for a complete physical by a pediatrician or eye/vision examination by an eye doctor. Your student is not required to undergo the vision screening if an optometrist or ophthalmologist has completed and signed a report indicating that an eye examination has been administered within the previous 12 months.
You will be notified if your student does not pass these screenings and if a follow-up is recommended. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our School Nurse, Jessica Kors, if you have any questions.
