April Showers Bring May Flowers

It is hard to believe we are starting week 5 of 4K virtual learning. We continue to be so impressed by the work the teachers, parents and kids are doing! Thank you to those parents who share pictures for the newsletter. We have truly enjoyed seeing them and posting them each week in the newsletter. Keep them coming!

Each 4K community site is currently making plans for families to pick up belongings from school. Safety is of the utmost importance as we plan for this pickup/drop off time, please watch for more information coming to you soon from your 4K site.

It is Teacher Appreciation Week this week. Please see below for more information and how you all can get involved and show your teacher how much you appreciate her. This week we want to say "thanks" not only to our 4K teachers, but to our Early Childhood team. They support our littlest learners in the Stoughton School District in homes and community 4K sites. We appreciate all you do!

Stay well,

-Erin and Sara Jane

The more parents talk with their child about math at home, the more a child’s mind is stimulated to think about math. Here are five ways to use math talk with your child.

1. Use age appropriate math talk.

2. Look for opportunities to count or add.

3. Look for opportunities to problem solve.

4. Ask open-ended questions to sustain math talk as long as possible.

5. Be prepared to take extra time for math talk.
