January 2020 - Rawlinson Parent Newsletter
Welcome back, Patriots!
Hoping this holiday season was filled with many joyous memories, and that you were able to rest and recharge for the year ahead.
I was able to spend some much needed quality time with family and friends, and was reminded about how important those times can be.
When students return on Monday, January 6th, 2020, it will be the 5th week of the six weeks grading period. Friday, January 17th, marks the end of the 3rd six weeks and the first semester.
Please be mindful of attendance, especially for high school credited courses. Don't hesitate to contact our attendance secretary at 210-397-4911 for any questions or concerns.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful New Year and the best of luck on all those New Years resolutions.
Sincerely,
Sherry Mireles

Congratulations to the Rawlinson Middle School Honors Band, for being recognized as a National Winner in the 2019 Mark of Excellence / National Wind Band Honors project in the New Music Division Category!
The Mark of Excellence is a national music competition that recognized music programs and their ensembles for high standards in performance.
The Foundation for Music Education sponsors this project. Ensembles are judged by nationally respected adjudicators, with the top quarter being named as National Winners and the second quarter named as Commended Winners. The project received 320 entries in all classifications this year, and has had entries from 38 states.
The adjudicators were Gary Hill, Anthony Maiello and Colonel Lowell Graham.
The performance of the Rawlinson Middle School Honors Band ensemble represents the very highest level of music teaching, learning and performing. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement!
