Dear Hazelbrook Families,
We are excited to welcome the month of October! There are several events and clubs for students to get involved with:
OBOB - please see Ms. Co for more information
Affinity Groups - students, look for QR codes posted to sign up
Fun Lunch Friday’s with music, games, and the Hawk High Five Store
Boo Gram fundraiser the last week of the month
Halloween Dance & Haunted Stage on the 27th (more information coming soon)
This Wednesday, October 12th is a non-school day for students to allow our staff time to grow professionally and collaborate with and plan with their colleagues. Our instructional focus continues to be around literacy across all subject areas which will be the focus of this day. Thank you for helping us grow these skills at home - learning is not isolated to the schoolhouse alone!
Lastly, I’m excited to bring together a great group of students for student council this month. This group will work in partnership with administration on matters that impact their learning and the culture and climate of our school.

Este miércoles 12 de octubre es un día no escolar para que los estudiantes le den tiempo a nuestro personal para crecer profesionalmente y colaborar y planificar con sus colegas. Nuestro enfoque de instrucción sigue siendo la alfabetización en todas las materias, que será el enfoque de este día. Gracias por ayudarnos a desarrollar estas habilidades en el hogar: ¡el aprendizaje no está aislado solo en la escuela!
Por último, estoy emocionado de reunir a un gran grupo de estudiantes para el consejo estudiantil este mes. Este grupo trabajará en colaboración con la administración en asuntos que impacten su aprendizaje y la cultura y el clima de nuestra escuela.

Looking to Volunteer at HMS?
Hazelbrook PSO is looking for YOU!
PSO is Hazelbrook's parent organization! We need your help, parents, grandparents and caregivers.
PSO is looking to fill the following positions. Check out the PSO Page on the Hazelbrook website to learn more about each position.

- PSO Vice President
- Book Fair (November)
- FUNd Run Chairs (Spring Event)
We love our volunteers! To volunteer in any activities with Hazelbrook TTSD requires you to go online and fill out a background check form, along with training you can complete online. Click here for more information.
Once completed, this process can take up to a few weeks to be approved to volunteer in the school. The earlier you start the process the faster you can volunteer in any events or just volunteering in the school.
October Volunteer Opportunities:
October 7: Fun Friday board games
Volunteers needed to assist supervising board game activities during lunchtimes on Fridays. Sign up for any or all three lunch times.
October 27: Halloween Dance
Dance will run from one hour before the end of school until one hour after the end of school. Volunteers needed to assist in a variety of chaperone and event activities as needed.
