STAAR testing will start soon. Although this school year has been challenging, we are confident our students are ready and have the skills necessary to be successful on the STAAR tests.

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) is a state-mandated test that measures students’ mastery of the statewide curriculum at various grade levels in elementary, middle school, and high school. STAAR End of Course (EOC) tests are administered to students enrolled in the following high school courses: Algebra I, and Biology. All students currently enrolled in these courses are required to participate in this testing. Satisfactory performance on each STAAR EOC test is a prerequisite for a high school diploma.

To ensure equity for all students, The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is requiring all students to take STAAR in a monitored testing session at school supervised by a trained test administrator. Appropriate public health protocols will be followed during all testing administrations. Masks are mandatory for all students and staff. Students will be testing in groups of no more than 10 per room. Remote Learners and On-Campus Learners will test in separate rooms.

All tests will be administered 9:00 am-1:00 pm.

Please contact our Testing Coordinator, Ms. Bottomly with any questions about STAAR testing sbottomly@harmonytx.org or 281-962-8595

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Everyone has a voice in Harmony Public Schools’ ongoing pursuit of educational excellence, and we are asking for candid feedback about your child's campus. We want to hear your thoughts on critical issues, including academics, student support, parent engagement, diversity, school operations, and the accessibility of school leaders.

This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your answers are strictly confidential, so please answer honestly. Reports will share only the overall results and will not identify individuals. No one in the district will know if you participated unless you identify yourself in the open-ended comments.

Engaging in ongoing, two-way dialogue is critical to providing your children with the best possible education. After the survey closes, we will share the findings and the steps we’re taking as a result of your feedback.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Student Assistant Form

Dear Harmony Families,

We at Harmony recognize the increase in challenges that many of our students and families are facing. As such, if there is any need, for example, a need for food, clothing, mental health support, or if your family is going through a difficult time and it is affecting your child, please let us know.

This year, we are offering parents the means to communicate any non-academic needs to the

school through a Student Assistance Form, better known as a SAF. By submitting a SAF you

will be alerting the campus administrators to your child's needs and will give us an opportunity to provide resources, support, or some form of assistance.

Fill out a SAF whenever you have some concerns about a student or they need help! Scan the QR code or go to www.harmonysaf.com

PBA stands for Positive Behavior Awards. Students earn points by exhibiting the following five character traits: Helpfulness, Honesty, Kindness, Respect, and Responsibility

When a staff member sees a student making a special effort to exhibit one of the five traits, they will be issued a PBA point in Skyward. Each PBA point is worth 10 Harmony Bucks. These Harmony Bucks can be used to purchase items from our Awards Store on the final Wednesday of each month.

Awards will start at 50 Harmony Bucks for items such as candy, chips, and special pencils. Or, students can save their Harmony Bucks all the way to 3,000 Bucks for items such as an iPad, Apple Watch, bicycle, or a Pro drone.

When a student uses their Bucks, that amount will be deducted from their account and automatically recorded on Skyward.

As a family, start encouraging students to show Helpfulness, Honesty, Kindness, Respect, Responsibility at school - and they will begin collecting PBA points to earn some great awards.
