From the Principal

Dear Copeland Families,

It's hard to believe we are in our last month of the school year. This year has flown by! As I reflect on this year, I am cherishing so many great times we had as a staff, with our students and with the community. Copeland is such an amazing place to be.

May is an exciting month with quite a few fun activities. PK has their Splash Day on May 12th from 12:30-2:00. We are excited to honor our volunteers at the VIPS brunch on May 15th at 9:00 in the library. Read, Deed, Run has their final race on May 16th at 5:10 at Langham Creek. Fifth grade has their fun day on May 19th from 11:00-2:00. May 19th is also "Get your green on day" to support Mental Health Awareness Month. Beach Bash, for students who purchased it, will be held on May 22nd during PEAM time. Fifth grade recognition is on May 23rd at 6:00 at Langham Creek. On Wednesday, May 24th at 9:00, our former Colts who are graduating seniors, will come walk the halls of Copeland one last time with our 5th grade class. May 25th is our last day of school and end-of-year parties. The party schedule is below:

9:15-9:45 1st, 4th, ECSE & LS

10:15-10:45 PK, 2nd & 5th

11:15-11:45 K & 3rd

1:00-1:30 PM ECSE

Wow! What a busy month! Please remember you must have a V-Soft badge visible when you are visiting Copeland. In order to maximize your time on campus, please return RSVP forms for events allowing visitors. If you do not have a V-Soft badge, you will be required to obtain one from the front office before being allowed into the instructional area. Please remember that only volunteers are allowed to attend Beach Bash. We welcome visitors to all of the other fun events listed above. We appreciate our volunteers for helping us make the last month of school so fun!

I hope you all have an amazing and safe summer break. Thank you for your continued support of our awesome school. I can't wait to see you for the 2023-2024 school year!

PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions & Support

Copeland PBIS has an end of the year beach bash that will take place on May 22, 2023. Each student has an opportunity to attend if they choose to purchase it for 100 CARE cash. Please have a conversation with your student about budgeting their CARE cash throughout the rest of the year if they would like to attend our beach bash. Thank you.

This month we are focusing on RESPECT by being RESPECTFUL to adults and peers. Our students are learning that being respectful to someone means being kind and courteous to others even if they have different opinions or beliefs than we do. Being respectful is also about following the rules in the building and in the classroom. When we are being respectful, we think before we speak and choose kind words to communicate. Please have conversations with your child about how they can be respectful at Copeland, at home, and in the community. We are so proud of our Colts for showing they CARE by:

Being Consistent

Being Accountable

Being Respectful

Being Engaged

We appreciate your support in our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports in our school.
