From our Superintendent Dr. John Sparlin
Greetings Parents and Guardians,
On Thursday, November 10, I joined several of our district leaders in visiting the Veterans Day programs put together by many of our schools; a few more events are planned for next week. Thank you to our students and our staff for putting together meaningful assemblies, songs, poems, and slideshows. Some schools invited Veteran speakers, provided breakfast for local Veterans, wrote cards to those serving overseas, and read about the importance of these heroes. Your hard work and dedication is inspiring, and models gratitude and patriotism for us all. Here’s a video showcasing several of the Veterans Day activities that have taken place at our schools so far.
On behalf of our entire district, we say Thank You to all the Veterans for your service!

Healthy Reminders
Cold and Flu Season is Here! We’re beginning to see an increase in absences due to illness. Now that people are spending less time outdoors, and more groups of people are together in confined spaces, germs are spreading! Please heighten your awareness of the importance of good hygiene practices, washing hands frequently, using a paper towel when contact with high-touch surfaces is necessary, use sanitizing wipes or spray to clean shared surfaces, encouraging students to use hand sanitizer and/or wash hands frequently, and have plenty of tissues available! The most important reminder is to STAY HOME if you are sick! By staying home when you don’t feel well, you help slow the spread of germs, and prevent others from missing school or work.
