Stages Of Mitosis
Devan and Shanya
Interphase
- Cells spend 90% of their life cycle in Interphase.
- It's divided into 3 stages
- G1 - " growth phase 1" - cell growth
- S - "synthesis" - DNA replicate
- G2 - "growth phase 2" - prepare for mitosis
Mitosis and Phases of Mitosis
- Process by which we make two daughter cells
- Prophase - mitosis begins, nucleus and nuclear membrane begins to disappear. Centrioles opposite ends of cell
- Metaphase -Chromosomes line upon the middle
- Anaphase - Chromosomes pairs seperate chromotids pull apart
- Telophase - begins once the replicated, paired chromosomes have been separated and pulled to opposite sides, or poles, of the cell.
- Cytokinesis - Cytoplasm seperates into two new cells
