Thank you for opening and reading this newsletter. It is intended to offer each of you the ability to know what is going on in class and what news, events and items of note are important for success in the classroom and beyond. This format offers you the ability to open and view it, come back to it when you have questions and it can even be updated if details are minimal at the time of publication. Official Pep Band Schedule (Winter 2014-2015)

Students and Parents, please observe that all band students need to perform at 2 Pep Band events. See attached for details!

Schoology and student access

The Band program is jumping into the new "learning management system" that Sauk Rapids-Rice High School has implemented. This system allows all teachers to align course expectations, assignment due dates, important calendar items and more.

For many of us, expansive use of technology is difficult. Should any student in the band program experience difficulty, it is always better to ask questions early about assignments, deadlines and expectations. Please use the forum options in Schoology to post questions. If you don't know where to begin with questions, please visit with Mr. Campbell.

PARENTS: You will soon be able to log into Schoology and check your student assignments, expectations and deadlines. We hope this offers you an even deeper view of what your student is working on in their courses.

STUDENTS: Make sure that you check Schoology on a daily basis for updates, suggestions and calendar deadlines.

Solo and Ensemble Contest

Wednesday, Feb. 4th 2015 at 9am

Band students have the opportunity to take a solo or ensemble to our Region 8AA contest. The date is February 4 and the location is Little Falls High School. There isn't any cost to students entering the event and all students will be bused to and from the event. Students who choose to do a solo that requires a piano accompaniment will be required to pay $35 to the accompanist that we bring in to work with students.

A sign-up form is located in schoology as a link to a Google Form. Students must complete this by Friday, December 12. The link is also accessible by clicking below on the button. Students who request to perform a solo at contest need to have their $35 payment to Mr. Campbell on or before January 16. Payment is made to Sauk Rapids-Rice High School and students need to put their payments in the money drop box near practice room 3 in the music commons. There isn't any fee for students to perform in an ensemble.

Summer Marching Band Survey

Please answer the brief, 5 question survey for the 2015 summer marching band season. The questions address numbers of parades, sweat camp and the potential for Sunday parades in June. Thank you.

Student Recommendation Letter Request

Seniors who are applying to college often request a letter of recommendation from Mr. Campbell. Please complete the request form linked above so he can meet your deadlines.
