Mrs. Cook
Block 1 & 2: We are continuing the novel, "Blood On the River Jamestown 1607" to go along with the study of colonial times in Social Studies. We will be looking at cause and effect and some other elements as we are reading. We will also be doing a character analysis and looking closer at physical and personality characteristics of the characters.

Science: We are beginning our study of body systems. This week we are beginning with the muscular system. We will be focusing on voluntary and involuntary muscles and how they help our body.
Ms. Price
Block 1 and 2 Math will continue our study of place value and decimals. We will be using Commutative, Associative, and Distributive properties to compute mentally. We will apply these properties to real-world situtations.
Science: The focus is on solids, liquids, and gases. We will explore and examine that matter has the ability to exist in several different states.
Science Vocabulary: state of matter, melting pot, boiling point, freezing pot
Mr. Ross
Language Arts/Social Studies - We will begin learning about the events leading up to the American Revolution.
Science- We will continue to learn about single and multicellular organisms.
Mrs. Rotenberry
Math: This week in math we will continue with unit 3. Our skill focus this week will be adding and subtracting thousands to thousandths, and place value billions to billionths. The Accelerated Math deadline is November 13- November 20. Students need 5 objectives. Please encourage your child to complete their Accelerated Math each week.
Science: This week we will begin our unit on matter and energy. Our skill focus for the week: identifying the states of matter and classifying matter by their physical properties.

*Planners need to be filled out and signed daily.
Reminders to Parents
*Please sign planner nightly. Please sign your full name (no initials) and use a pen.
*Be sure to check your childs planner today and every Friday for a conduct grade for the week. Please sign and address any concerns with your child. Teachers will be checking for a parent signature on Monday.
*Tardies and Early Dismissals can affect Success Celebrations* Success Celebration Criteria: -Students cannot have an N or U in conduct in any class. -Students cannot have any office or bus referrals. -Students cannot have any unexcused absences. -Students cannot have more than 3 tardies to school. -Students cannot have more than 3 early dismissals from school.
**November 6th will be the pick up for the fundraiser items from Great American Opportunities. Please mark your calendars!Pick Up will be 2-5pm at the Community Schools entrance at the side of the school.
