MOAHPERD Convention
The MOAHPERD Convention is quickly approaching. It will take place November 13-15 in Lake Ozark, MO. The Rockwood PE/Health dept will be well represented as we have about 12 PE Teachers heading down for this great learning opportunity. We will also have a few presenters as well as award winners representing Rockwood. The following link is the convention schedule. Take a look at it. If you see something that sparks your interest and you want to know more about it, let me know. I will do my best to get you any information from that specific presentation. AND.....as always follow the dept on twitter @RSDHPE for updates on all the awesomeness happening during the convention.
Fitnessgram
Classes have been imported into Fitnessgram for the 15-16 school. If you should come across any troubles with rosters, please create a work flow ticket for Mark Buddemeyer. If you are having trouble logging in, use lastname, firstname for user ID and rockwood2016 for the password. Also, FG is currently going through a change in vendors. As of January 1st their sole vendor will be US Games. There will be no changes to FG on our end.
APP of the Month
Charity Miles is a free app that empowers you to earn money for charities while walking, running or biking-- everyday.
Just choose a charity and hit the streets. As you walk, run or bike, the app will track your distance and you'll earn money for your charity: 10¢ per mile for bikers; 25¢ per mile for walkers and runners, all up to $1,000,000 courtesy of our corporate sponsors.
This is a great way to promote philanthropy through fitness.
