proud/shame:hawaii was annexed by the U.S. when president William Mckinely signed the newlands resolution the U.S. gained possession of all ports, buildings, etc. that belonged to the hawiian government.

proud/shame: U.S. tried to spread their belifes and culture to other countries but almost acted as they were trying to assimilate other people to be more like them.

proud: U.S. tried to stay out of wwI but after several attacks to U.S. ships by german boats the U.S. declared war on germany and eventually joined the world war.

proud: citizens were able to support the war effort by buying bonds and food suplies were equally shared between troops and citizens.

proud: Propaganda of the war helped make it widespread news in the U.S. also promoted the war effort and got citizens involved to help.
