Introduction
People ask what is the most important organ in the body. In my opinion I think the most important is the digestive system and I'm going to tell you why.
What does the digestive system do.
The digestive system is uniquely designed to turn foods you eat into nutrients. The body then uses these nutrients and uses it for energy, growth, and cell repair.
Here is how the food goes down to the digestive system

What other systems does the digestive system support
The digestive system supports the muscular system because them nutrients also go to the muscular system by sending nutrients to the system which also makes them bigger and stronger.
The most important organ
The pharynx
The pharynx is an organ of the digestive system. This organ is also known as the throat.
What does it do
The pharynx is like a tunnel that the food goes down into the stomach. This way it can digest and get all the nutrients can get to the body.
Why is it important
The reason why its important is because this organ helps all the food we eat go to the other organs help the rest of the body function. Without this organ we not be able to get the food to our stomach and we not survive.
Other reasons why its important
This system also makes sure the food gets to our stomachs and if we did not have the pharynx where would the food go. It wont go to our stomachs so we could starve.
The process
The way the food goes down through the pharynx is that food passes through a long tube inside the body known as the alimentary canal or the gastrointestinal tract. The alimentary canal is made up of the oral cavity
