Elissa Jefferson places in National Competition

Congratulations to Elissa Jefferson for being selected as the 3rd place winner of the ORISE STEM in Film: Obscure Phenomenon Exploring Faraway Lands. She submitted her film to this national competition for the 9th-12th school division and won! You can view her film on the ORISE website at this link.

Mrs. Wisnewski selected to present at State Conference

Congratulations to Mrs. Wisnewski whose session "Teach Like a Writer: Using Insider Insight from Publishing to make Learning Relevant" has been accepted for the Georgia Conference on Children's Literature, which will be held March 18–19, 2022 at the UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel.

Free Tutoring! Access Tutor.com via ClassLink for Live On-Demand Help at Home! AP Courses are Included!

Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) and Tutor.com, one of the world’s largest online tutoring services, have partnered to provide live, online tutoring services for RCPS students. Through this partnership, quarantined RCPS students in grades 6-12 can access live tutors on-demand, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from Tutor.com for 1-to-1 learning support. RCPS students in grades K-12 can access the same expert tutors afterschool.


Students will be able to access Tutor.com through the ClassLink landing page in any internet browser on their school-issued laptop or device, which will automatically sign in the student to their account. Or they can visit https://launchpad.classlink.com/rockdale.

RVC Virtual Tutorials

RVC is providing online tutorials in Math, Science, and Spanish. Students can access the sessions by using the link ROCKDALE SOS TUTORIALS.

Free COVID-19 Testing

RCPS continues to offer free COVID-19 testing for students and their parents over the next several weeks. We do ask that you pre-register a day in advance by going to www.freecovidtesting.us and selecting Registration, then Covid testing, then Rockdale County Schools. This site will make you choose an appointment time, however testing is actually on a first come-first served basis on the dates and at the locations below.


December 6-9 954 North Main Street (12 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

December 13-16 954 North Main Street (12 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

(No KDOW testing during December Break, December 20-January 3).

Excuse notes can be brought to Magnet’s front office or submitted via email to

MagnetOffice@rockdale.k12.ga.us .Please note that excuse notes must be submitted within 3 days of your student’s return to school.
