A Message From Dr. Flowers- Principal
Dear Families,
Today, we had our Sweet Treats with the Principal. Students are pictured below who participated.
We also had an ALICE drill this morning. Students were given a warning prior to the drill to let them know it would be happening and it is just a drill. Most students did a great job listening to their teachers throughout the drill.
Have a great weekend!

COUNSELORS CORNER!
Hello Brimfield Families!
Building confidence in our students is important. Whether your child is full of confidence or seems to be in constant self-doubt, there are things we can be doing every day to help build those feelings of confidence. Here are some ideas for families to incorporate ideas on how to build confidence. One way to help children build confidence is by encouraging them to learn and try new things. Whether it is a new sport or activity, trying something new can help students gain the confidence to continue to grow and adapt to new environments. Although they may struggle at first, once they accomplish their goals, they will feel capable and competent. Similarly, giving your child age-appropriate responsibilities, like taking care of their things, taking care of a pet, etc. can help your child feel like they can contribute to making the world a better place. Like any skill or habit you want your child to pick up on, it’s important to model positive self-esteem. Children are always watching. When you turn your mistakes into opportunities to learn, use positive self-talk, or accomplish new things, your child will feel empowered to do the same.
If you have any concerns please feel free to contact me!

PBIS CORNER
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is an important part of the school environment to encourage positive behavior. There are clear expectations throughout the school that are taught consistently throughout the year. The four expectations promoted at Field Local Schools are:
Safe
Outstanding
Accountable
Respectful
When students do not respond to teaching of the building or classroom expectations, we will view it as an opportunity for re-teaching, not just negative consequences. Students still receive consequences for negative behavior. The goal of the consequence is to teach students so they will not repeat the negative behavior.
