Important Winter Weather Information

If we can predict that a weather event, be it snow or extreme cold, will impact school, we will give our families & staff a heads up the day before to bring home devices and prepare accordingly for an "e-learning" day. If it's an unforeseen circumstance when families and staff would be unable to prepare for a day of at-home learning, an e-learning day will not be called and the school district will institute an emergency closure/traditional snow day. The decision would be finalized the morning of the impacted school day.

Following this approach will allow for fewer interruptions in the school year and minimize the chances that the school calendar needs to extend into an additional week in June.

Test Notifications Going Out Next Week...Do We Have Your Correct Contact Info?

We want to ensure that we can reach you in the event that an e-learning day needs to be called or emergency situation arises. Next Wednesday 12/8 at noon, we will send out a test email, text, and robocall so we can ensure all of your information is in our system correctly BEFORE an urgent situation presents itself.

Need to check your contact information or update it in Family Access? Need to ensure your primary phone number isn't a landline? (It's happened before!) Watch the less than one minute tutorial below:

While You're in Family Access... Optional Vaccination Status Disclosure For Your 5-11 Year Old

Many families have recently chosen to have their 5-11 year old student vaccinated.

As a reminder, your child is not considered fully vaccinated until two weeks after receiving their second dose.

You can complete an optional form in Family Access to let DPS 109 know that your child is vaccinated. This is the same form that was made available to students ages 12 and older earlier this year. Please click below to log into Family Access.

Why are we asking for this information?

A major benefit of completing the form is that if your child is deemed to be a close contact to a positive case, either in school or outside of it, our contact tracing team will quickly be able to potentially rule out quarantine for those that have voluntarily disclosed their child’s vaccination status or minimize the number of additional tests required to participate in the test to stay program.

Again, filing out this form is entirely optional. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to communications@dps109.org and we will put you in touch with the appropriate department.

Early Learners Star at Recent BOE Meeting

We were so proud of our students and staff who presented at the November 16th BOE meeting about their new specials partnership. Thank you to these amazing kiddos and their teachers for doing such a great job!
