A Message from your Principal

Dear Team Zachry Families,

This is Hispanic Heritage Month. During the week of September 20th-24th we will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week with some fun activities. Please click here

Please watch our Zachry community calendar click here for events and locations throughout

the year!

Please see below the PDF with updated COVID-19 protocol information for our NISD families. Thank you for helping us keep everyone healthy and safe.

Starting on Monday, September 27th, Zachry will be moving to an Enrichment/Intervention Bell schedule for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We will keep our regular schedule for Fridays. Every student will see a study hall on their schedule based on the interest survey we had them fill out or an academic intervention required by the new HB4545 state laws. Study Hall will happen for 30 minutes during the school day ( 11:04-11:34). We are excited about the small group interventions and the exciting enrichment activities that will bring fun, learning and enjoyment to all Zachry students. While your students will start to see the courses on their HAC or SAC as we build the classes, our official start date is Monday, Sept. 27th. Thank you to every Zachry teacher for their talents and excitement about this special time.

Parents/Guardians, It is very important to regularly use your Home Access Center. Please use the PDF below for guidance on accessing the Home Access Center - there are additional items in the Family Home Access Center in comparison to the Student Access Center.

Does your child need internet access at home?

Northside ISD has partnered with TEA Connect Texas (TEACT) to provide eligible families access to free, filtered internet service at home.

Monthly home-based, high-speed broadband internet service will be available at no cost on a first come, first served basis. To be eligible, families must currently lack adequate home internet service.

The goal is to address the “Homework Gap” and provide students internet access outside of school hours. This is along with the District’s one-to-one device initiative which provides laptops and Chromebooks to all students.

To get started, visit the TEA Connect Texas website. Families will need to provide their child’s student ID number, phone number, email address, and home address.

Hard copy forms will be available in each NISD school office for families who need assistance completing and submitting. All forms must be submitted by Oct. 1, 2021.

Once eligibility is determined, TEACT will work as a liaison between families and internet service providers to schedule installation.

TEACT is a Texas Education Agency initiative to support school districts. For more information or questions about the program, visit the TEACT website.
