Romeo Character Connection

People should follow the rules and be nice to one another.

Act 1, Scene 1

Sampson is greeting Abram in a way most people do not want to be greet to. With that being said Sampson goes on to say, " Sampson:' Nay, as they dare. I will bite my thumb at them; which is disgrace to them, if they bear it.' Abram:' Do you bite your thumb at us sir?' Sampson:' I do bite my thumb sir.' (Page 944)" Sampson is basically flipping off Abram because they come from different family's and Sampson also just wants to fight. Abram didn't do anything to Sampson. Therefore, Sampson should not have bit his thumb at Abram.

Act 2, Scene 5

Friar Laurence is speaking to Romeo and Juliet because he needs them to follow him. "'Friar Laurence:... For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone Till Holy Church incorporate two in one. (Page 1042)'" Friar Laurence is almost getting ready for them to get married which is against the rules because Montagues and Capulets are not supposed to get married. And Juliet's dad wants her to get married to Paris.

Act 5, Scene 3

Paris is talking to Romeo because Romeo killed Tybalt and is blaming him for Juliet's fake death. If Paris would have known what was happening, then he would not have gone on to say, "Paris:'To the dead bodies. I will apprehend him. Stop thy unhollowed toil, Vile Montague!...Obey, and go with me; for thou must die.' (Page 1093)" Paris is calling Romeo names and is blaming Romeo for Juliet's death. But, Paris clearly doesn't know what happened because Paris is the reason for Juliet's death. Therefore, he should not call someone names or be mean when you don't know what actually happened to Juliet and what caused her to act dead.
